Wilson’s Wave Joins the Seaboard Festival in Hamlet

On Saturday, October 26, 2024, Betsy Moore, Founder of Wilson’s Wave, will host a booth at the Seaboard Festival in downtown Hamlet. From 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, festivalgoers can stop by to learn more about Wilson’s Wave and its mission to raise awareness about the dangers of fentanyl.

Established in 1982, the Seaboard Festival celebrates Hamlet’s rich history as the “Hub of the Seaboard.” This beloved annual event transforms Main Street into a family-friendly celebration filled with crafts, kids’ activities, food, and live entertainment. Highlights of the festival include a regional car show, the Conductor’s Call, and a 5K race. Organized by dedicated volunteers, the event supports the community as part of Seaboard Festival Day, Inc., a non-profit organization.

Moore founded Wilson’s Wave to honor the memory of her son Wilson, who tragically lost his life to an accidental fentanyl overdose. Through education and community engagement, Wilson’s Wave strives to combat the opioid crisis and inspire meaningful change.

Visit the Wilson’s Wave booth to learn about the organization’s efforts, hear Wilson’s story, and discover how you can help make a difference. Together, we can create a ripple effect of hope and action.
