Wilson’s Wave Founder Betsy Moore to Speak at Richmond Early College High School (REaCH)
On Friday, October 25, 2024, Betsy Moore, Founder of Wilson’s Wave, will speak at Richmond Early College High School (REaCH) in Cole Auditorium, located at 1042 W. Hamlet Ave., Hamlet, NC. From 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Moore will share her late son Wilson’s story and raise awareness about the devastating impact of fentanyl.
Every day, 10 people in North Carolina lose their lives to fentanyl, forever altering the lives of their families and friends. North Carolina ranks #4 in the nation for fentanyl-related deaths despite being 10th in population, and fentanyl has become the leading cause of death for residents aged 18 to 25. These staggering statistics underscore the urgent need for action.
Wilson’s Wave was born from tragedy—when Wilson Moore, a vibrant and beloved member of his community, died of an accidental fentanyl overdose. Betsy Moore founded Wilson’s Wave to educate others and prevent similar losses.
Through this talk, Moore hopes to inspire change, reminding attendees that even small actions can create ripples of impact, much like the wave in Wilson’s name. Join her in learning how to combat the opioid crisis and honor Wilson’s legacy.
